I’m coming to Perth!

I will be launching NANNY PIGGINS AND THE ORIGIN STORY with a live show in Perth at the Dolphin Theatre, on the 2nd of November at 2.30pm. Tickets are on sale now.

I will be performing a chapter from the brand-new book and telling the stories behind the story, including how I came up with Nanny Piggins in the first place (hint – it involves a piglet and a paddle pool from Bunnings). I’ll even sing you a song (don’t worry it will be short) and most likely leap off a piece of furniture (I might even break a leg).

This is a fun family show, full of stories to designed to get giggles from audiences of all ages. Books will be available for purchase and I will be signing them after the show.

Hermes’ banjo

I’m posting this for anybody who listens to this week’s episode (Wed 9th 2024) of BEDTIME STORIES WITH R.A. SPRATT. It’s a picture of an urn from Ancient Greece, that depicts Hermes playing his home-made lyre. Because there was a skin stretched across the tortoise shell (as described by Homer, and that’s the Ancient Greek poet, not the character from the Simpsons) I maintain that this “lyre” is the world’s first banjo.
