I started rehearsing ‘Christmas Stories with R.A. Spratt’ today. Henry is a wonderful audience. He listens to all my stories and he never heckles. But I do I hope the actual audience in the theatre is better at staying awake than him.
My office today. Writing a podcast script while supervising four 11-year-olds. I’m actually getting a surprising amount done here.
Check out today's episode of the 'Words and Nerds' podcast. Dani Vee kindly let me do a takeover episode, so I interviewed my friend @tony_flowers99 We talked about publishing, visual literacy, author/illustrator tours, guitars and volkswagons.
My eyeball. The optometrist showed me so I could see the laser hole in it. (I had to have drainage holes cut into my eyes 5 years ago). It’s like my eyeball was in in a lightsaber battle with a teeny tiny Darth Vader… at least that’s the way I like to imagine it.
I will be launching FRIDAY BARNES 11, LAST CHANCE at the State Library of Victoria on January 28th! I'm so excited to finally do an event in Melbourne again. I booked the theatrette at the state library so we can have a big crowd. I'll read a whole chapter from the new book and telling stories about how I came up with all the ideas. Then you'll be able to buy your own copy (and get it signed by me) 5 days before it officially goes on sale in other bookshops. Your friends will be so jealous!
