Bravely wrestling Easter eggs from the zucchini plant.
I’ve just been trying to figure out how much touring I’ve done this year. According to my Instagram feed I’ve visited Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Richmond, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Wellington NZ and the Gold Coast. As well as sponsoring a Potato Race and writing the first book in a new series. And while my husband has been away on tour for 8 weeks. I guess that explains why I’ve been feeling tired.
I was reading NANNY PIGGINS AND THE RIVAL RINGMASTER to the girls tonight. It’s the first time I’ve read it in 8 years, and I was horrified to realise that I am now the same age as Mr Green.
I finally fixed my banner just in time for my last two presentations at the festival.
Another workshop trying to cram as much as possible into kids brains in 90 mins. Hopefully no cranial explosions occurred later as a result.
Awesome workshop to finish the day. Binny the bus driver and Eleanor the teacher had driven them for 7 hours in a mini-bus to be at the festival. Great kids and legendary grown-ups!

What do two nerds do on the Gold Coast? Go to a literary festival and play lots of chess!
I’m super excited to be an ambassador for the 2018 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge! I’m the prize in the grade 3-6 category. It’s as prestigious as being a chook in a chook raffle!
Thank you for having me @nzfestival You’ve ruined me for regular photos. From now on I will only allow my picture to be taken in full theatrical lighting.
Thank you @catherinerobertson11 for helping me bewitch the audience into believing that I was intriguingly brilliant and hysterically funny, as well as many other things, at today’s session.
