This week on the podcast it’s the story of Icarus. Ancient writers got away with things that modern writers would never be allowed to do - like having characters jump out of windows with home made wings. Ovid clearly did not have to work with a ‘childhood advisor’.
Sunflowers looks amazing at the NGA. It doesn’t look like it does on display in London. The lighting makes it look like it glows. The Monet and Turner paintings are the same. It’s magical.
I often get asked about the amount of research I do for FRIDAY BARNES. The answer is - not a lot. I just know a surprising amount of weird stuff from two decades of writing children’s television. If you want to see what I mean - check out the episode of The Wonder Gang I wrote that is on tomorrow morning. #ABCKids #thewondergang
Nanny Piggins wisdom on the dangers of giving up chocolate.
I’m in this months @highlifesouthernhighlands but the cool thing is that Sammy got the photo credit! My schedule was so crazy I couldn’t meet up with their photographer so I sent in a bunch of photos and the magazine chose this one that Sammy took in the @thebookshopbowral last year when she was 9 years old. It’s her first published work! (NB. podcast fans will know Sammy by her alias ‘Tammy’)
